i want to build connectivity between sql server and oracle 12 db , like tables from both the databases need to interact like we need to wrtie data from sql server to Oracle and from oracle to sql server. Initially i thought of using ORDS to do this. Do we have a method .

If you want MSSQL to act as a client to oracle, you use MSSQL 'shared server'. If you want oracle to act as a client to mssql, you use oracle 'database link'.

When you say "ORDS", do you mean using REST enabled SQL? The developers I work with love it, but I do not know if it works against a SQL Server.

I mean it will be both ways, we may have to send data from Sql server to Oracle and from Oracle to Sql server.
It will be two way commuication. For example when there is a new record created in customer master table in oracle table data from oracle table needs to be pushed to sql server table customer info. Similarly when there is a change in payment transaction at sql server table payment_info the same needs to be pushed to Oracle.
